In celebration of AREF’s 10th Anniversary in 2025, we are delighted to host a Mount Kilimanjaro Fundraising Trek! Please join us as we climb the highest freestanding mountain in the world to support talented African health researchers to solve challenges that will save lives, celebrate AREF’s success, and raise money to support our work for years to come.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN TEAM AREF?

COST
All participants will be required to pay a £499 non-refundable booking fee at the time of registration. For participants who plan to fly via London, the trip cost will be an additional £2,750, with a fundraising target of £5,500. 50% of this target will cover your trip cost, and the other 50% will go directly to support AREF.
If you will not travel via London, the land-only tour cost (excluding flights) is £2,000. Participants will be responsible for booking their own flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport. For those on the land-only option, we kindly request that you aim to raise at least £4,000. 50% of this target will cover your trip cost, and the other 50% will go to support AREF.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
All meals, accommodation, and camping equipment for the duration of the trip; qualified trip leaders and medical assistance; entry permit to the National Park; flights from London to Kilimanjaro International Airport (if not on the land-only option).
