The post holder will provide operational support to ensure the delivery of the AREF Researcher Development programmes (Academy and Awards). 

  1. Essential requirements:
  • First degree in business studies or related social science field.
  • Excellent project management knowledge with a track record of having worked in a project or administrative setting.
  • Experience in managing events especially training events.
  • Experience in preparing and managing budgets, analyze figures and prepare forecasts.
  • Demonstrate strong Customer Services skills
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in using common business tools, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, document management systems, databases, and communications platforms (Zoom or equivalents).
  • The ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with colleagues, scientists, and other stakeholders.
  1. Desirable:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Event or hospitality management qualification.
  • Project management qualification. 
  • Experience of supporting science, research or health-improvement in low- and middle-income settings. 

The salary will be paid in Grade 4, 23 Points of MRCG at LSHTM’s payscale.

The appointment is for 1 year initially and will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
