AREF is looking for a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to join the team in The Gambia. The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation strategies, utilising appropriate frameworks and tools in line with our Theory of Change. S/he will work with the programmes and awards teams to embed monitoring and evaluation within the life cycle of all activities.

  1. Essential requirements:
  • Masters degree in a relevant area of study or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience developing and delivering monitoring and evaluation activities, ideally in a professional development or higher education sector.
  • The ability to analyse and present results of evaluation activity in a variety of formats, for example reports, presentations, board papers.
  • The ability to plan and manage multiple projects and processes, delivering consistently to specified high standards and necessary deadlines.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and creatively being able to negotiate and compromise in pursuit of shared goals.
  1. Desirable:
  • Experience in Project Management or qualification in project management.
  • Experience working in higher education or research.
  • Experience working with a charity.
  • Good written proficiency in French and/or Portuguese. 

The salary will be paid in Grade 2, 31 Points of MRCG at LSHTM’s payscale.

The appointment is for 3 years initially and will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
